General IT- Network Management

Network management refers to the broad subject of managing computer networks. There exists a wide variety of software and hardware products that help network system administrators manage a network.
Network Management covers a wide area, including:

  • Security: Ensuring that the network is protected from unauthorized users.

  • Performance: Eliminating bottlenecks in the network.

  • Reliability: Making sure the network is available to users and responding to hardware and software malfunctions.

  • Hardware Specific- IT Network Administrator

    The IT network administrator focuses on maintaining an organization's data management network. The IT network extends to the corporate LAN, WAN, intranet, and Internet. Users rely on this web of networking technology to communicate and share, store, and process information. IT network administrators are responsible for maintaining a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network.

    Software Specific- Website Developer
    A web developer is a programmer who specializes in, or is specifically engaged in, the development of World Wide Web applications, or distributed network applications that are run over HTTP from a web server to a web browser.

    Investigations and Design- IT Analyst
    What does an IT Analyst do?
     Duties can include:
    Determines requirements, designs, installs, and maintains server hardware, operating systems, software, scripted procedures, computer management, programming, and operational support tools on organization-wide computing systems. Maintains security as well as staff access to information and data. Maintains and monitors performance, capacity, and availability of organization-wide computer systems. Provides technical leadership, training, and consulting related to computer systems, their applications and uses.
